Cassia (Indian Laburnum) flowers - a 'Vishu'al treat



Many of Delhi's roads are lined by the Indian laburnum trees (Amaltas / golder Shower / Cassia fistula) , which are in full bloom in all their yellow glory in May (as summer travels northwards). Behold them, and celebrate Vishu with every eyeful...

    Namaste....lovely pictures. Here (Toronto Canada) the trees turn every imaginable color you can think of, pinks, purples, blues, reds, browns, yellows, lilac, burgungy even black if you can believe.

    We have these trees here but I have not seen such a gorgeous bloom. The trees you have shown are breath taking. I can visualize that you have been enthralled with the abundance of yellow flowers.

    That was only a glimpse. In the Army cant area, whole roads are continuously lined with these trees. Some are completely yellow, some are half-green, half-yellow. You're right. I let my breath be taken away. :)

    Loved them...its such a treat to the eyes. We too have couple here , none this dense. Still i enjoy the richness of the yelllow and the flower bunches hanging like grapes.....
